The mountains of Scotland & Wales may be a touch higher, but the hills of England, particularly those of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, are no less dramatic. With stunning views and some classic peaks to be bagged, along with numerous long distance paths to be conquered, walking the English hills can be a very rewarding endeavour.


Listed below are just a handful of our favourite walks., however, there are numerous other walks and adventures to be had across the English fells. Scafell Pike

Standing at 978m, Scafell Pike is the highest peak in England and commands stunning views across the Lake District. 

Helvellyn: Striding Edge

The 2nd highest mountain in England and the home to the [in]famous Striding Edge, one of the UK's most iconic ridge walks.


Providing stunning views of the northern Lakes and the airy drops of Sharp Edge put this mountain at the top of many peoples Lakeland tick lists.

Fairfield Horshoe

The Lake District is famous for horsehoe walks and Fairfield is one of the best, giving stunning views across the central lakes and and Windermere.

Coledale Round

A less trodden horsehoe than some in the Lakes but one of the best, giving fantastic views across the northern Lakes and a sublime day of walking.

Kentmere Round

A major horseshoe walk in the southern Lakes, with views over surrounding Wainwrights, the Howgill Fells, & the Yorkshire Dales.

Old Man of Coniston

Nestled in the southern Lakes, the 'Old Man' provides fantastic 360 views and with a multitude of route options there is walking to suit all abilities.

Howgill Fells

The often ignored hills between the Lake District & Yorkshire Dales, yet with stunning views towards both the neighbouring ranges, don't ignore this gem for too long!
