Wales: Bookings are accepted for activities for up to 4 people from one household. As of the 26th April, bookings can be made for up to 30 clients.

With the latest relaxation of travel restrictions within Wales, we can now accept bookings for activities. Please note, you must be currently resident in Wales as cross-border travel restrictions remain in place.
There are currently no changes to our Covid bookings policies for England or Scotland

With the ever changing Covid goalposts it is time for another update. Thankfully, this is a positive one:
Scotland - Based on the First Minister's announcement a few days ago, as of Saturday 13th March we can now accept bookings once again of groups up to 15 people (including instructor/s) for outdoor activities. Travel restrictions are currently still in place, therefore, instructors and participants must be local to the activity location and social distancing will be implement between households.
Across Scotland travel restrictions are due to be lifted from the 26th April, all being well. Therefore, we have taken the decision to allow Scottish bookings from the beginning of May. This allows a little leeway in case the dates changes, however, we still advise booking later in the summer if possible to [hopefully] guarantee your desired date will go ahead.
Wales - From Saturday 13th March restrictions permit up to 4 people from 2 households to meet outside; therefore, Terra Via Adventures can accept bookings for 3 participants from one household to be taken. Travel restrictions and still in place, therefore, instructors and participants must be local to the activity location and social distancing will be implemented between households.
England - No further changes to those described below.

As the route map out of covid restrictions is announced, it gives us all a glimmer of hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel and we can hopefully get back out there soon. Below is brief description of how this might affect any bookings with Terra Via Adventures over the coming weeks to few months. Please note, all dates are subject to change based on government guidance and the spread/decline of Covid-19. We will keep posting updates regarding bookings, ratios, etc... as we have them.
Scotland - The First Minister announced the beginning of restrictions being lifted from the 15th March. Until then we can only accept private guiding or skills courses booked on a 1:1 basis, where both the instructor and client are local to each other and the meeting point is in line with the Scottish government travel exceptions for both parties. Beyond the 15th March this ratio will change to 1:3; travel restrictions will remain the same. It is subsequently hoped from the 5th April that travel restrictions will ease and bookings can be accepted for anywhere in Scotland of up to 5 people from one household.
England - Based on the announcement from the Prime Minister earlier in the week, we will currently accept bookings from the 29th March of up to 5 people from the same household.
Wales - We are currently not accepting any bookings for any of our Welsh activities during restrictions. It is hoped this will be reviewed by the Welsh Assembly towards Easter.
Standard bookings are still being accepted for dates later in the summer across all Terra Via activities.

With the increased level of Corona Virus restrictions taking effect in early January we have had to change our working policy in line with these restrictions. While the current lockdown is in place we cannot accept any bookings for guidance or skills courses in England or Wales. Locally to ourselves, i.e. Edinburgh and the Lothians, we can accept private guiding or skills courses booked on a 1:1 basis, where both the instructor and client are local to these regions and the meeting point is in line with the Scottish government travel exceptions for both parties.
Bookings for later in the year are still accepted at this time. Our recommendation is to book from the summer onwards if possible.

With the ever changing nature of the Covid-19 crisis, and the change in regional advise/regulations, Terra Via Adventures has had to make the following changes regarding bookings for the remainder of 2020:
13/10/2020
With the latest Wesminster update regarding the continued rise of Covid-19 cases in England, we have taken the decision not to accept bookings from anyone based in areas designated 'Very High Risk' (as defined by the Westminster government) for activities taking place for the remainder of 2020. Bookings from these areas are still accepted for 2021 unless the current restrictions are significantly rolled over in to next year. With regards bookings from elsewhere in the UK, we are still accepting 2020 bookings from anyone not currently in located in an area of local lockdown.
25/9/2020
As some Covid restrictions are re-imposed, it is important to remember that outdoor sporting and coaching activities can still continue and are not restricted in the same was as indoor household meetings. Therefore, Terra Via Adventures is still able to offer the majority of our activities. We do ask that households remain socially distant from one another, e.g. if there are 6 people from 3 households on a course, those households should remain 2m apart, however, this should be easy to maintain outdoors and not impact our activities too much. With regards face coverings, Terra Via Adventures does not require clients to wear a mask while outdoors, but clients are free to do so if they wish; and hand sanitiser will be available for those who wish to use it.
10/7/2020
As the Scottish government begins to open the path to activities once again taking place, it is important to note the virus has not yet gone away. Therefore, at Terra Via Adventures we are starting to look at once again taking bookings, however, these must be of small groups, up to 2 households, ideally who all know one another, and are happy to keep to social distancing rules. As most of our activities are outdoors, this should be easy to maintain. We would recommend you bring along a mask if you at all worried, and in case there is the possibility of venturing in doors during our day, e.g. popping in to a shop while on a bike ride.
18/6/2020
As with many aspects of our lives at the moment, nothing is quite as normal as we would like it to be, however, for the safety of family, friends and the wider public it is important we do what we can to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Being based near Edinburgh we are subject to any rules or restrictions imposed by the Scottish government in relation to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Like many of you, we would love nothing more than to be out in the hills or hitting the trails on the mountain bikes, wild camping in the wilderness or exploring some hidden glens; and those adventures will return, we just have to hang-in a little longer.
The advantage to our work at Terra Via Adventures is our natural outdoor classroom. It has been shown that being outdoors significantly limits the ability for Covid-19 to transfer from person to person, and it is a lot easier to socially distance from one another outside! Therefore, as the restrictions begin to ease, we will start to offer a carefully selected set of activities. Likely these will initially be local guiding and skills courses around Edinburgh and the Lothians, however, we will announce these as and when it is possible to do so.
16/3/2020
Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, and following government advice, Terra Via Adventures has, with a heavy heart, suspended all activities until further notice. Once government advice allows, we hope to begin offering activities again in the near future.

- We are currently taking no bookings for activities in based in England and Wales.
- We are still taking bookings for activities in Scotland, however, the following conditions apply:
- Clients based in Tier 3 regions must book their activity to take place in their own region. This is to stay in line with the current travel restrictions for this tier.
- Clients and activities based in regions designated Tiers 0-3 can take place as normal given social distancing guidelines are adhered to.
