The Cairngorm National Park is one of two recognised national parks in Scotland and contains several of the highest peaks in the UK. These peaks are situated amongst the Cairngorm Plateau, the highest continuous region of mountain landscape in the country. The Cairngorm National Park is a mecca for walkers, climbers, skiers and nature lovers alike.
Below we list two different walks in the North West Cairngorms, however, there are many possible options available. If there are any other walks, peaks or adventures you are interested in please Contact Us and we will do our upmost to fulfil your requirements.

Cairngorm and the Northern Cories
Starting from the Cairngorm ski centre car park we head South West towards the dramatic glacial landscape of Coire an t-Sneachda and Coire an Lochain, two [in]famous winter climbing areas. The trail slowly rises from 600m up to 1200m on the western edge of the coires before traversing around the top of them, giving dramatic views of Cairngorm Plateau to the South East and the wide open valley of Strath Spey to the North West. As we continue to follow the rim of these rugged glacial landforms we slowly rise up to the summit of Cairngorm, the mountain which gives its name to the region. From the summit of Cairngorm we descent through the ski area (hopefully there won't be too much snow in summer, it is Scotland after all!) before returning to the ski centre at the foot of the slopes.
Cairngorm and Ben Macdui
This walks starts from the same location as the Northern Cories walk and follows the same first few kilometres before branching off near the top of the coires and heading out for the Cairngorm Plateau to reach the second highest peak in the UK, Ben Macdui. From the summit you get fantastic views across the Cairngorm Plateau and in to the huge alpine-style valley, the Lairig Ghru, which cuts right through the heart of the Cairngorms.
After taking in the view from Ben Macdui we retrace our steps a short distance to rejoin the northern coires path and to head for the mountain of Cairngorm itself. From the summit of Cairngorm we descent through the ski area before returning to the ski centre at the foot of the slopes.
