The big three a little differently...
The National Three Peaks has become synonymous with challenge walks. The aim for many is to complete the three highest mountains of Scotland, England and Walks, those being Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon respectively, within a 24 hour period. We applaud their determination, however, we have taken the decision to spread this event over three days and do things a little differently.
By spreading the adventure over three days this allows everyone to truly enjoy each of these beautiful mountains during daylight hours, along with helping to protect the beautiful mountain environment by minimising footpath erosion and noise pollution during the evening.
We normally kick-off with Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and with beautiful views across Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula it is a lovely way start the adventure. Day two we will head for the Lake District and Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, before finishing the three days with the big one...Ben Nevis; the highest mountain in the United Kingdom and with a stunning 360 degree summit panorama it is a fantastic way to round off the adventure before enjoying a wee victory dram in Fort William.
To enhance the experience of these famous mountains we offer the option to take different routes to the normal, often over crowded, tourist trails, taking in some of the less utilised paths to the top of these magnificent peaks. The routes detailed below are our favourite walking routes to the top of these amazing mountains, however, the exact routes can be tailored to the group, so please talk to us at the time of booking regarding your experience and we will do our best to create the best trip possible.

The highest mountain in Wales & with numerous routes to the summit, Snowdon is one of the most popular mountains in the British Isles; however, there are still a few quiet footpaths to avoid the crowds. Our favourite from Llanberis is via a valley known as Telegraph Alley and the Rangers Path, before descending down the Llanberis path back to town.

The highest mountain in England & with a number of routes to the summit, all giving beautiful views across the Lake District, it is certainly worth the effort. Our favourite route is via the Corridor Route from Seathwaite, and returning via Grains Gill to give a stunning circular walk.

The highest mountain in the British Isles, with spectacular views across Lochaber and out towards the western isles, Ben Nevis is a fantastic way to conclude your three peaks journey. Even more so if you take the dramatic ridge line of Carn Mor Dearg (the 9th highest peak in the UK) which loops around the North side of Ben Nevis.
